Cook frozen shrimp straight from the freezer in your air fryer for perfectly juicy and crispy results in under 15 minutes. This minimal prep seafood recipe is ideal for quick dinners or easy appetizers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb frozen raw shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Take the frozen shrimp directly from the freezer. Do not thaw them first.
  2. In a medium bowl, toss the frozen shrimp with olive oil until lightly coated.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle this seasoning mix over the shrimp and toss again until the shrimp are evenly seasoned.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place the seasoned frozen shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary to maintain crispiness.
  6. Air fry for 10 to 13 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time.
  7. The shrimp are done when they are pink, opaque, and curled into a ‘C’ shape.
  8. Serve immediately as a quick appetizer or add to your weeknight dinner.

Notes

  • For extra crispy air fryer shrimp, you can lightly spray the shrimp with cooking spray before seasoning.
  • If your shrimp are very large, you may need to add 1 to 2 minutes to the total cook time.
  • This method works well for raw, shell-off shrimp.
