Learn how to make perfectly crispy, non-soggy sweet potato fries in your air fryer. This recipe includes tips for cutting, soaking, seasoning, and cooking to achieve the best results every time. Includes a simple paprika and garlic seasoning blend.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, scrubbed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut the sweet potatoes into 1/4-inch thick fries.
  2. Soak the cut sweet potato fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat them completely dry with paper towels.
  3. In a bowl, toss the dried fries with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Arrange the seasoned fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary.
  6. Air fry for 15-20 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through, until they are tender inside and crispy outside.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, ensure the sweet potato fries are very dry before seasoning and air frying.
