- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup elbow macaroni, uncooked
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth.
- Add the uncooked elbow macaroni, paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, and bay leaf.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the macaroni is tender, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the bay leaf before serving.
Notes
- This dish tastes even better the next day as leftovers.
- For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- Serve hot with a side of crusty bread.
