A simple and hearty one-pot pasta and beef dish, perfect for a comforting weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth.
  4. Add the uncooked elbow macaroni, paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, and bay leaf.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the macaroni is tender, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove the bay leaf before serving.

Notes

  • This dish tastes even better the next day as leftovers.
  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • Serve hot with a side of crusty bread.
