Impress your guests with this elegant yet effortless baked brie appetizer, perfect for holiday gatherings. This recipe features a warm wheel of brie cheese, oozing with melted toppings, and is wrapped in flaky puff pastry for a stunning presentation.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 (8 ounce) wheel brie cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Crackers, baguette slices, or apple slices for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, unfold the puff pastry sheet. If it’s a large sheet, you may need to cut it to fit around your brie wheel.
  3. Place the wheel of brie in the center of the puff pastry.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the cranberries, pecans, honey, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Spoon this mixture over the top of the brie.
  5. Carefully wrap the puff pastry around the brie, sealing the edges. You can create a rustic look by folding the pastry or trim excess and crimp the edges for a neater appearance. Place the wrapped brie seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and puffed, and the brie is soft and gooey.
  7. Let the baked brie cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm with crackers, baguette slices, or apple slices.

Notes

  • For a different flavor profile, try substituting the cranberries with chopped dates or figs.
  • If you don’t have puff pastry, you can bake the brie without it and simply top with the cranberry-pecan mixture.
  • This appetizer pairs well with a crisp white wine or a light-bodied red.
