Make the best homemade burger sauce that tastes like your favorite restaurant. This creamy, tangy special sauce comes together in minutes using simple pantry staples.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Sweet Pickle Relish
  • 2 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Yellow Mustard
  • 1 teaspoon White Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • Pinch of Salt

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients. You will need one cup of mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, ketchup, yellow mustard, white vinegar, sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, ketchup, and yellow mustard.
  3. Add the white vinegar, sugar, onion powder, and garlic powder to the bowl.
  4. Stir all ingredients together until the sauce is completely smooth and uniform in color.
  5. Add a small pinch of salt and mix again. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed.
  6. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the sauce for at least 30 minutes before serving. Chilling allows the flavors to blend for the best taste.
  7. Serve this easy special sauce on your homemade hamburgers, as a fry sauce, or on sandwiches.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add 1/4 teaspoon of smoked paprika or a dash of hot sauce.
  • If you prefer a thinner consistency, add a teaspoon of the pickle juice from the relish jar.
  • This homemade secret sauce is best when made ahead of time to let the flavors meld fully.
