Make this rich, creamy, and safe-to-eat brownie batter dip using boxed mix. It is a quick, no-bake dessert perfect for parties or satisfying chocolate cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (about 18.3 oz) brownie mix (do not use a mix that requires eggs or water)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 8 ounces frozen whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, plus more for topping
  • Sprinkles, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Spread the dry brownie mix onto a baking sheet. Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes, or microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until the mix reaches 165°F. This step makes the mix safe to eat. Let the heat-treated mix cool completely.
  2. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened cream cheese until it is completely smooth with no lumps.
  3. Gently mix in the thawed whipped topping until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Add the cooled, heat-treated dry brownie mix and the milk to the cream cheese mixture. Mix on low speed until everything is smooth and fully incorporated.
  5. Fold in the 1/2 cup of chocolate chips by hand.
  6. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Top with extra chocolate chips and sprinkles, if desired.
  7. Serve immediately with pretzels, graham crackers, or fruit slices.

Notes

  • If you prefer not to heat-treat the dry mix, you can substitute it with 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder and 1/2 cup powdered sugar, mixing them well before adding them to the cream cheese base.
  • This dip is a great alternative to traditional meal planning when you need a fast, indulgent snack.
  • For a decadent spread, consider this recipe as a substitute for some of the treats you might find from meal delivery companies.
