A simple recipe for perfectly roasted Brussels sprouts that are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with the savory addition of bacon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  4. Add the chopped bacon to the baking sheet with the Brussels sprouts.
  5. Roast for 20-25 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are tender and caramelized, and the bacon is crispy. Stir halfway through cooking.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispy sprouts, ensure you don’t overcrowd the baking sheet. Use two sheets if necessary.
  • You can add a drizzle of balsamic glaze after roasting for an extra layer of flavor.
  • If you prefer a vegetarian option, omit the bacon and consider adding toasted nuts or dried cranberries for texture and flavor.
