Whip up this easy, crowd-pleasing chili cream cheese dip. It is thick, cheesy, and perfect served warm with your favorite chips or pretzels.

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (15 ounce) can chili, no beans preferred
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions, for topping
  • 1/4 cup crushed tortilla chips, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a small oven-safe baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chili, sour cream, and taco seasoning. Mix until everything is smooth and well combined.
  3. Stir in half of the shredded cheddar cheese into the cream cheese mixture.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly into your prepared baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining half cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the dip.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is heated through and the cheese on top is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
  8. Top with chopped green onions and crushed tortilla chips just before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a dash of your favorite hot sauce to the mixture before baking.
  • You can prepare this dip ahead of time. Cover and refrigerate for up to 2 days, then add 5 to 10 minutes to the baking time.
  • Serve this thick and cheesy dip with sturdy tortilla chips, pretzel bites, or vegetable sticks like celery and carrots.
