Ingredients
Scale
2 oz Blanco Tequila
1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
0.75 oz Orange Liqueur (Cointreau recommended)
Optional: Salt for rim
Optional: Lime wedge for garnish
Instructions
Prepare your glass: If salting the rim, run a lime wedge around the edge of your glass. Dip the rim into a plate of coarse salt. Fill the glass with ice.
Combine ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, add tequila, fresh lime juice, and orange liqueur.
Add ice to the shaker.
Shake well until the shaker is frosty on the outside.
Strain: Strain the mixture into your prepared glass filled with ice.
Garnish: Garnish with a lime wedge if desired.
Notes
For a sweeter margarita, increase the orange liqueur to 1 oz.
For a tarter margarita, increase the lime juice to 1.25 oz.
Use good quality ingredients for the best flavor. Blanco tequila is recommended for its clean taste.
You can serve this margarita ‘up’ (without ice) by straining into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
