An incredibly easy and addictive creamy shredded chicken recipe, perfect for sandwiches, dips, or as a main dish. You’ll see why it’s a favorite!

Ingredients

  • 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 (1 oz) packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in your slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix evenly over the chicken.
  3. Add the softened cream cheese on top of the chicken and seasoning.
  4. Pour the chicken broth around the cream cheese.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until chicken is cooked through and tender.
  6. Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
  7. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir to combine with the creamy sauce.
  8. Stir in the crumbled bacon and cheddar cheese, if using.
  9. Cook for another 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and everything is heated through.
  10. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For an Instant Pot version, cook on high pressure for 10 minutes, then natural release for 5 minutes.
  • This chicken is delicious served on slider buns, over rice, or as a dip with tortilla chips.
  • For a keto-friendly option, serve without buns or over cauliflower rice.
