Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (15-ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, for spice)
  • 2 tablespoons water (or more, for desired consistency)

Instructions

  1. Place the rinsed and drained black beans, cilantro, lime juice, garlic, olive oil, cumin, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using) into a food processor.
  2. Process the ingredients until the mixture begins to break down.
  3. Add the water, one tablespoon at a time, while processing until you reach a smooth, creamy texture. Stop and scrape down the sides as needed.
  4. Taste the dip and adjust salt or lime juice if necessary.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or fresh vegetables.
