Whip up this bright, herby, and irresistibly creamy dill dip in just five minutes. It is the perfect low effort appetizer for game day, parties, or serving with fresh vegetables and crackers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese and sour cream into a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Use an electric mixer or a sturdy whisk to beat the cream cheese and sour cream together until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  3. Add the fresh dill, dried parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the bowl.
  4. Mix on low speed until all the seasonings are evenly incorporated into the base. Do not overmix once the herbs are added.
  5. Taste the dip and adjust salt or pepper if necessary.
  6. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. For the best flavor, cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld.
  7. Serve your homemade dill spread with fresh vegetables, chips, pretzels, or crackers.

Notes

  • For the best flavor, prepare this dip ahead of time. Chilling overnight makes it a great make ahead appetizer.
  • If you prefer a tangier dip, substitute half of the sour cream with plain Greek yogurt.
  • This recipe is naturally gluten free and vegetarian.
  • Use dried dill if fresh dill is unavailable, but increase the amount to 1 tablespoon of dried dill.
