A simple and comforting peach cobbler recipe with a biscuit-like topping, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans sliced peaches in heavy syrup, undrained
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Pour the melted butter into a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the milk to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter in the baking pan. Do not stir.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the drained peaches, 1/4 cup sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir gently to coat the peaches.
  6. Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter.
  7. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  8. Let the cobbler cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • You can use fresh peaches; you will need about 6-8 medium peaches, peeled and sliced. Adjust sugar if peaches are very tart.
