Create a creamy and savory smoked salmon dip that is perfect for entertaining or a simple brunch. This recipe is quick to assemble and uses quality ingredients for the best flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces smoked salmon, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon capers, drained and chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Crackers, bagel chips, or vegetable sticks for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese in a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Add the chopped smoked salmon, lemon juice, dill, capers, and minced red onion to the bowl.
  3. If you are using horseradish, add it now.
  4. Use a fork or an electric mixer on low speed to combine all ingredients until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Do not overmix.
  5. Season the dip with black pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  6. Cover the bowl and chill the smoked salmon dip in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Serve the dip cold with your choice of crackers, bagel chips, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use high-quality cold-smoked salmon.
  • If you want a smoother texture, you can pulse the mixture briefly in a food processor.
  • Garnish the top with a few extra sprigs of dill and a sprinkle of smoked paprika before serving for visual appeal.
