Create irresistible, pizzeria-style garlic bread at home with this simple recipe. Perfect for any Italian meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of French baguette or Italian bread, day-old is best
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the baguette in half lengthwise. If using a whole loaf, slice it down the middle.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, olive oil, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  5. If using, sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the butter mixture.
  6. Place the bread halves, cut-side up, on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the butter is melted and bubbly.
  8. For softer garlic bread, you can wrap the halves tightly in aluminum foil before baking.
  9. Slice into desired portions and serve warm.

Notes

  • Using day-old bread helps it crisp up better.
  • For a richer flavor, you can use a mix of butter and garlic-infused olive oil.
  • This garlic bread is a fantastic accompaniment to pasta dishes, soups, or salads.
  • Consider this a simple alternative to some meal planning services when you need a quick and satisfying side.
