- 1 (8-10 lb) bone-in, fully cooked spiral-cut ham
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup pineapple juice (from canned pineapple)
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the ham cut-side down in a large roasting pan.
- In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, pineapple juice, apple cider vinegar, and ground cloves.
- Heat the glaze mixture over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth. Do not boil. Remove from heat.
- Brush about one-third of the glaze evenly over the entire surface of the ham.
- Bake the ham for 15 minutes per pound, basting with the remaining glaze every 20 minutes.
- If the ham begins to brown too quickly, loosely tent it with aluminum foil.
- The ham is done when an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can insert thin slices of fresh pineapple around the ham before baking.
- This recipe works well for meal planning; leftovers keep well for several days.
- If you are looking for alternatives to traditional baking, consider using a sous-vide precision cooker for part of the cooking process before glazing.
