Make crowd-pleasing jalapeño poppers stuffed with creamy cheese and baked until golden. This recipe is perfect for parties and game nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large jalapeño peppers
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cooked bacon (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise. Use a spoon to scrape out the seeds and membranes. Wear gloves to avoid skin irritation.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, cooked bacon (if using), garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Spoon the cheese mixture evenly into each jalapeño half.
  5. In a shallow dish, combine the panko breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Dip the stuffed jalapeño halves, cheese-side down, into the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to coat.
  7. Place the coated jalapeño poppers on the prepared baking sheet, cheese-side up.
  8. Drizzle the melted butter over the tops of the poppers.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the topping is golden brown and crispy.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For less heat, remove all seeds and membranes from the jalapeños.
  • If you don’t have bacon, you can omit it or substitute with finely chopped chives.
  • Bake until the peppers are tender to your liking.
