Easy baked jalapeño poppers stuffed with cream cheese and topped with bacon for a spicy, cheesy appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large jalapeños
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked until crisp and crumbled

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes. You can wear gloves to avoid skin irritation.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Spoon the cream cheese mixture evenly into each jalapeño half.
  5. Top each stuffed jalapeño with crumbled bacon.
  6. Place the jalapeño poppers on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the jalapeños are tender and the filling is bubbly and lightly golden.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier popper, leave some of the seeds in the jalapeños.
  • You can substitute cheddar cheese with Monterey Jack or a pepper jack for extra heat.
  • These can be prepped ahead and baked just before serving.
  • Consider these a great alternative to traditional meal planning for your next party.
