Make this quick, crunchy pecan pie bark using graham crackers as a base. It captures the buttery, nutty flavor of pecan pie without the fuss of baking a full pie. This recipe is simple and perfect for holiday platters or gifting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 box (14.4 ounces) graham crackers, whole sheets
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans, lightly toasted
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Arrange the graham cracker sheets in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, breaking them slightly if necessary to fit snugly.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine the butter and brown sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the butter is melted and the sugar is completely dissolved. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it boil for exactly one minute without stirring.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
  5. Pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the graham crackers, spreading quickly with an offset spatula to cover all the crackers.
  6. Sprinkle the toasted pecans evenly over the hot toffee layer.
  7. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the toffee is bubbly around the edges. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
  8. Remove the sheet from the oven. Immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot bark. Let it sit for 5 minutes to soften.
  9. Spread the softened chocolate gently across the top with a spatula.
  10. Let the bark cool completely at room temperature, or place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to speed up the hardening process.
  11. Once fully hardened, break the bark into irregular pieces. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • To toast pecans, spread them on a dry skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring often until fragrant.
  • If you are looking for quick dessert ideas that save time, this recipe is a good alternative to complex baking projects.
  • For a sweeter finish, you can drizzle melted white chocolate over the cooled bark after breaking it apart.
  • This bark works well as a make-ahead treat for parties or as part of a gift basket, similar to how you might plan for meal delivery services when you need quick options.
