A quick and easy twist on a classic, these pumpkin spice Rice Krispie treats add a cozy autumn flavor perfect for an after-school snack.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 package (10 oz, about 40) marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin purée
  • 6 cups crisp rice cereal

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat. Stir in pumpkin pie spice and pumpkin purée until well combined.
  4. Add crisp rice cereal. Stir until cereal is evenly coated.
  5. Press the mixture evenly into a greased 9×13 inch pan.
  6. Let cool completely. Cut into squares or use a cookie cutter for festive shapes.

  • Using too much pumpkin purée can make the treats soggy.
