Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices of bread (sourdough or rye recommended)
  • 1/4 cup leftover Thanksgiving stuffing
  • 1/4 cup leftover cranberry sauce
  • 46 ounces sliced roast turkey
  • 2 tablespoons gravy
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Butter for toasting

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and Dijon mustard.
  2. Spread the mayo-mustard mixture on the inside of both bread slices.
  3. On one slice of bread, layer the stuffing.
  4. Place the sliced turkey over the stuffing.
  5. Spoon the cranberry sauce over the turkey.
  6. Dip the second slice of bread into the gravy, ensuring it is well-moistened, then place it gravy-side down onto the sandwich.
  7. Butter the outside of both bread slices.
  8. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  9. Grill the sandwich for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and heated through.
  10. Slice in half and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For an extra moist sandwich, you can lightly toast one slice of bread and soak it in gravy before assembling.
  • Add other Thanksgiving leftovers like mashed potatoes or green beans for extra flavor and texture.
  • Consider using a sturdy bread that can hold up to the fillings.
