Spooky and delicious cinnamon rolls with a gory Halloween twist, perfect for a fun breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 count) package refrigerated cinnamon roll dough
  • Green food coloring
  • Red food coloring
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese frosting (from cinnamon roll package or homemade)
  • Candy eyeballs
  • Raspberry jam (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the cinnamon roll package directions.
  2. Prepare the cinnamon rolls as directed on the package, but do not bake them yet.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese frosting with a few drops of green food coloring until you achieve a desired zombie-like green hue.
  4. In another small bowl, mix the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Add a few drops of red food coloring to create a ‘bloody’ glaze.
  5. Bake the cinnamon rolls until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. While the rolls are still warm, spread the green cream cheese frosting over each one.
  7. Immediately stick candy eyeballs into the frosting to create zombie faces.
  8. Drizzle the red ‘bloody’ glaze over the rolls, if desired.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy your spooky breakfast treat.

Notes

  • For a more homemade taste, use your favorite cinnamon roll recipe instead of refrigerated dough.
  • You can also use black icing or edible markers to draw stitches or scars on your zombie rolls.
  • If you don’t have candy eyeballs, small black candies or even dots of black icing can work.
