- 1 (8 count) package refrigerated cinnamon roll dough
- Green food coloring
- Red food coloring
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/4 cup cream cheese frosting (from cinnamon roll package or homemade)
- Candy eyeballs
- Raspberry jam (optional)
- Preheat your oven according to the cinnamon roll package directions.
- Prepare the cinnamon rolls as directed on the package, but do not bake them yet.
- In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese frosting with a few drops of green food coloring until you achieve a desired zombie-like green hue.
- In another small bowl, mix the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Add a few drops of red food coloring to create a ‘bloody’ glaze.
- Bake the cinnamon rolls until golden brown and cooked through.
- While the rolls are still warm, spread the green cream cheese frosting over each one.
- Immediately stick candy eyeballs into the frosting to create zombie faces.
- Drizzle the red ‘bloody’ glaze over the rolls, if desired.
- Serve warm and enjoy your spooky breakfast treat.
Notes
- For a more homemade taste, use your favorite cinnamon roll recipe instead of refrigerated dough.
- You can also use black icing or edible markers to draw stitches or scars on your zombie rolls.
- If you don’t have candy eyeballs, small black candies or even dots of black icing can work.
